The program is will be submitted to Stellenbosch University CPD department for the Health Professional Council South Africa (HPCSA) accreditation.

The CPD scanning and monitoring process is being managed by ConsultUS (Pty) Ltd.

Effective from 01 February 2022, CPD providers no longer need to issue CPD certificates to the HPCSA professionals. The CPD provider will submit points earned per delegates directly to the HPCSA CPD office.

The HPCSA will then automatically upload the accredited CPD event/activity points to the HPCSA professionals profile.

She obtained her PhD (SU) on non-invasive cardiac output monitoring in preterm infants. She is part of the European Society of Paediatric Research special interest group on non-invasive cardiac output monitoring (NICOM) as well as the special interest group on neonatologist performed echocardiography (NPE).

Eckhard Teschner, with a background in biomedical engineering and experience in emergency and intensive care, joined Dräger in 1999. He's been Senior Product Manager since 2001, overseeing Dräger’s EIT technology project. He's initiated over 80 collaborations with lung mechanics experts, participating in numerous EIT measurements on intensive care patients. He's authored/co-authored publications on EIT and PulmoVista 500. A member of TREND group, he contributed to PulmoVista 500's development, specifying requirements, designing its interface, and managing iterative projects to enhance its performance and usability.

She practices at Tygerberg Children's Hospital and holds two Masters degrees, one in Tropical Medicine and International Health, and another in Paediatrics, specializing in isoniazid prophylaxis for children on antiretroviral therapy.

The Paediatric Pulmonology and Neonatology Divisions at Tygerberg Hospital are pleased to announce the 13th Conference, titled “The 13th Voyage”.

The aim of this conference is to navigate newly described and insufficiently explored neonatal, infant and childhood lung conditions as well as cardiac and paediatric intensive care related lung conditions through state-of-the-art lectures in the respective fields. Regular international speakers include Profs Andrew Bush, Ernst Eber, Fabio Midulla, Petr Pohunek, Bruce Rubin and Savvas Andronikou.

The conference is preceded by an Ultrasound Workshop, as well as a combined Neonatal/Paediatric Workshop on 4 December 2024 held at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Stellenbosch University on Tygerberg Campus.

We invite you to exhibit or attend what promises to be an excellent scientfic programme, which will be held at The Lord Charles Hotel on 5 & 6 December 2024. Nestled against the majestic backdrop of the Helderberg mountains in the heart of Somerset West in Cape Town, it is an oasis of luxury and tranquillity. Surrounded by the verdant beauty of the Cape Winelands, this enchanting retreat seamlessly blends sophistication with breathtaking natural surroundings.

The academic program focuses on a wide range of subjects, ranging from antenatal diagnosis and congenital lung disease, interstitial lung diseases, cystic fibrosis, asthma and the wheezing infant, to interventions (airway management, bronchoscopy, lung surgery, lung biopsy) and imaging (interpreting chest x-rays, chest CT and / or MR scans, ultrasound of the chest), ethical dilemmas, unusual lung infections, including viral infections, lung function, PCD and respiratory support of the sick child.
